Another approach to developing students' study skills from
Enhanced Learning Educational Services (ELES) :
Looking for something different to do with your students around the topic of study skills?

But this is a 'snakes and ladders' game with a twist!
When students land on a square with a ladder going up, they can only move up the ladder if they answer YES to the question. Eg. ' Do you really try to concentrate in the classroom?'. You can imagine the discussion this generates when students are deciding if their classmates really do listen enough in class to allow them to move up the ladder.
When students land on a square with a snake going down, if they answer yes to the question then they have to move down the snake. Eg. 'Do you sometimes hand in homework late?'. Students really are quite engrossed as they debate whether or not they can move up or down the board.

And of course, it is a great way to get students thinking about study skills issues - and how these issues directly relate to them.
Each set contains:

- 6 dice
Price: AUD$110 for the set (includes postage).
Notes:
- We do not offer an 'on approval' service for this product.
- There are no photocopying rights for this product. If you require more game boards you will need to purchase more sets.
What age group is the game suitable for?
It really depends on the students!
Generally it would be recommended for Years 8-10.
Why don't you provide counters with the game?
When trialling this game in schools we originally had counters. But it was such a nightmare to get all the counters back and there was a huge attrition rate where they were lost or taken - we decided to try something different. We told students to use a small bit of paper or something from their pencil case like a pen lid and hey presto, it was so much smoother in the distribution of the game to the class and the packing up. So this is what we have put in the instructions on the game board.
