STUDENT SESSIONS

“Just what I was looking for!”

student sessionsOur Study Skills Sessions for year groups in high schools have been extremely well received over the past eight years with over 60000 students and parents benefiting from the sessions run by Prue Salter - founder and director of ELES. ELES comes to your school and runs a study skills session with the whole year group (sessions vary from 45 mins to 1.5 hours in length.)

ELES is based in Sydney. Schools outside of the Sydney area will need to see if it is possible to arrange sessions at a time that is convenient to the school and ELES. Additional travel costs will apply.

Why run an ELES Session?

You will provide your students with essential skills to help them achieve greater success (something parents really appreciate!).

You will save valuable time: we fill in the gaps for you between what is available and what you need to help your students.

You can add a dynamic element to your existing program to enhance students' study skills and let students benefit from a different perspective on the topic.

You will have the appreciation of the students, parents and the school for providing this valuable opportunity.

Session Content

Our courses are structured around the different needs of the different Stages.
The information below indicates the type of content that would be included in that session. The reality is that no two sessions presented are ever identical. Each session is tailored to the needs of the school taking into account the following factors:

1. How much study skills work (if any) the Year Group has covered.
2. Whether the Year Group has attended an ELES session before.
3. The focus that the Year Coordinator feels the group needs.
4. What time of the year the session is held.
5. When the examination period (if any) is for the school.
6. The make-up and background of the Year Group.
7. What the 'feel' is among the Year Group at that point in time.

We also work together with schools that use us across a large number of year groups in order to develop a tailored program to meet the needs of the school. If a particular year group has completed all of our publicised sessions, we then design sessions to meet their specific needs.
